Pursuing Truth and Justice: An Examination of How Independent Courts and an Independent Media are Essential to Our Democracy

History has proven that an independent and aggressive Fourth Estate is an essential watchdog in our democracy. Time and again, history has also proven that an independent judiciary is critical to preserving our rights and protecting our democracy from overreaching by the other branches of government. In 2017, with both the media and our judges and courts under attack, this program will examine the role of journalists today, layered with the role lawyers and the Judiciary have in our democracy, while seeking to address the critical question of whether they can or should get along.
