SPECIAL INTEREST TRACK
Animal Law CommitteeAnimal law practitioners from different disciplines will provide the latest developments in their respective fields as well as identify the direction of future trends. As one of the fastest growing areas of the law, those non-animal law practitioners should know how their disciplines might be impacted by changes in the field of animal law. For example, those representing individuals with disabilities should know the protections their clients need for their service or emotional support animals in housing, employment and education. Also, family practitioners must be aware of the protections animals have in domestic violence situations. Presenters will also address the attempts to change the legal status of animals from merely property and reclassifying those who have animals from owners to guardians.
